Review: MoveMe.com

The very first thing I look at to see if a site is going to be worth my interest is the design. If the creator didn’t bother to make the design at least minimally appealing, then the odds are they didn’t bother to make the content at least minimally useful. On the other hand, if the design is more upscale than the content justifies, then it may be a site that’s focused solely on the surface, with nothing in any underneath.

The design at http://MoveMe.com is professional, but not overly so, so I’m inclined to lean towards the content being professional as well.

The site being from the UK also posed a problem, obviously. For example some of the terms I’m unfamiliar with. Apparently “conveyance” refers to the legal transfer of the property. So the site offer a conveyancing quote to help people smooth out the legalities involved, with assistance in locating a conveyancing solicitor (the British term for lawyer, specifically the ones who do paperwork).

The site seems very thorough in offering help for just about anything you need in moving.

We have toyed with the idea or moving on and off, and much of what I see on this site are the kinds of things we faced having to research and study. It can really be a daunting job. Moving from one place to another in the city has it’s set of headaches, but moving when it involves a change of ownership of both the old and new properties brings even more problems. In the US we also sometimes face the problem of moving to undeveloped land, in order to build a home, which I would assume is a bit more more in the UK, given their lack of space.

Overall the site seems to be put together very well with quite a bit of detail. I‘d recommend at least a checkout by any people in the UK considering moving.
