The moment you let me take YOUR money from YOUR church to finance abortion or gay rights events at YOUR church I will have sympathy for you!.
I ask that you put yourself into another groups shoes even for a moment. Before Iraq was invaded, Iraq had a three percent population of Christians. After the invasion that three percent was no longer protected by the government against militant Muslims. They fled!
In America it is more like 85% that consider themselves "Christian" (whatever that means).
Here instead of fearing the American military we fear not getting a promotion, a contract or simply "not making the team".
A tacit endorsement of religion is not life threatening in our country but it is a cause of discrimination.
I don't see any reason for our country to prefer Christianity to Judaism or any other made up belief.
Trivia fact: There are more agnostics and atheists in America than there are Jews!
