Will Obama's real approval rating please stand up

So how's Obama's approval rating? Depends on who counting...

New York Times: Survey Reveals Broad Support for President
Washington Post: Obama Gets High Marks for 1st Month
...or...
ABC News: A Strong Start for Obama – But Hardly a Bipartisan One
...or...
World Net Daily: Obama approval falls back to average

So which is it? Well Obama approval ratings are exactly the same a Bush's were after one month in office. Can you imagine the NYT of WP writing the kind of glowing headlines above for Bush? Obama's approval ratings are 63%, so in effect every one of the headlines is factually true, but are they really accurate?

Here's Gallup's figure comparing recent presidents...

What's interesting is that it seems the lower the rating (Reagan) the better the president, and inversely the higher the rating (Carter) the worse the president. So one could argue that the rating has an inverse relationship to the actual abilities of the President. That would make sense because in all honesty most people are like children, silly, self-centered and immature, so the best leaders are those that make tough, unpopular decisions, and the worst leaders are those that cater to the whims of idiots.
