Neighborhood objects to new Mosque

From WorldNetDaily...

A Florida man filed a lawsuit to prevent construction of a mosque in his neighborhood, claiming it "presents a substantial harm to the well-being, safety and health" of his community.

Rodney Wright named in his complaint the Islamic Center of South Florida, the South Florida office of the Council on American Islamic Relations, or CAIR, and its national office....

The Islamic center's imam, Hassan Sabri, "has a history of ties to terrorism, and anti-Semitic statements," said the pastor's [an outspoken critic of the move, Rev. O'Neal Dozier, pastor of a church in the neighborhood, World Wide Christian Center] statement....

The lawsuit says associates of Sabri are tied to terrorist groups such as al-Qaida, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

This is a tough one.

On one hand I don't like the idea of one religion barring the free exercise of another. But at the same time, it is natural fro people to want to be safe in their own homes and neighborhood, and given the Imam's associations as well as public views, he indeed presents a threat.

Personally, I'd say the involvement of CAIR, pretty much clinches the conclusion that rather than simply a place of worship, the proposed Mosque would be used as a focal point for radical Islamic indoctrination, recruitment and possibly terrorism.

Like I've said many time, denouncing the violence of other Moslems goes far in telling Americans that Moslems here are not like the terrorists we see on the news. Too bad they failed to do that. Now they are paying the price.
