Giuliani commits political suicide
From CNN...
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told CNN Wednesday he supports public funding for some abortions, a position he advocated as mayor and one that will likely put the GOP presidential candidate at odds with social conservatives in his party.
To start with, try to name one single, prominent (as in holding a national position of power) pro-life Democrat...go ahead, take your time...can't can you. That's because the DNC does not tolerate that viewpoint, at all.
Now, let's shift across the isle and see how many pro-choice Republicans there are. Tons...because the GOP, while opposing abortion, does not black ball pro-choice politicians. But...the reality is that for the office of President, any candidate will have to contend with a very large voting block that takes abortion as a deal breaker.
Had he waffled, hedged and ambiguated (otherwise, pulled a Clinton) Giuliani might, just barely have convinced some social conservatives that he would be a safe choice as a party nominee. But not now. His chanced are nil.
Oh the Dems are cackling about how narrow minded the GOP is for rejecting him on those grounds, but the truth remains that while the GOP has plenty of pro-choice politicians and even candidates for President, the DNC has none.
They're the narrow-minded ones.

Rudy commits suicide?? Wishful thinking on your part, Mr. Ultra-Rightwinger. Who do you work for, Tom Delay, the crook?
